What happens during my first appointment?
Your first appointment gives us time to discuss your symptoms, medical history, daily activities and goals. We will carry out an appropriate musculoskeletal assessment, explain our findings and discuss a treatment or management plan tailored to you. Treatment will also be provided when it is clinically appropriate and you are happy to proceed.
Can you refer me for further investigation if needed?
If we feel that further investigation is needed, we can write a referral letter to your doctor outlining our clinical findings and any suggested further tests. We can also signpost you to private MRI services where appropriate.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. Depending on the area being assessed, your practitioner may need you to remove some clothing. This will always be discussed with you and your consent and comfort will be respected.
How long does an appointment last?
Appointment length can vary depending on the service you book and the nature of your assessment or treatment. The relevant duration will be shown or confirmed when you make your booking.
Can diagnostic ultrasound be included in my appointment?
Diagnostic ultrasound may be included when it is clinically appropriate and likely to provide useful information about your presenting issue. Your practitioner will explain whether ultrasound is suitable and how it may support your assessment, diagnosis and treatment plan.
